HSNC HISTORY

The Humane Society of Navarro County (HSNC) was established in 1972 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  The HSNC serves the pets and people of this rural community of approximately 40,000 citizens.  Our humane society is not affiliated with any national organization, is solely supported through the generosity of the citizens of Navarro County and functions courtesy of those volunteers who serve on the Board and perform the work of the organization.

MISSION STATEMENT
The HSNC is dedicated to promoting the humane and ethical treatment of animals.  This mission includes the reduction of animal overpopulation and abandonment within Navarro County, as well as the placement of adoptable pets in appropriate homes.
Additionally, the HSNC maintains a close association with the City Shelter and local veterinarians and works with City and County officials and businesses

NEED HELP WITH SPAY/NEUTER?
The HSNC shares your concerns about unplanned or unwanted litters, homeless animals and overpopulation.  We are fortunate enough whereby we can offer financial assistance with the costs involved in spaying/neutering.  We also have information on low cost spay/neuter clinics available in the surrounding areas.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

We love volunteers! Typically, our biggest volunteer opportunity is on Saturdays when we walk dogs at the Corsicana Animal Shelter. We also have other opportunities like set-up for our fundraisers, bagging dog food, and helping stuff envelopes. For a volunteer application and more info, please call us at 903-875-1060, email us at thehsnc@gmail.com or message us on our facebook page.

DONATIONS

Monetary donations are ALWAYS welcome.  Since we have no paid employees, all the monies raised and donated go directly towards the animals.  All monetary funds are directed toward spay/neuter charges, medical check ups, heartworm testing, feline luekemia testings, shots and preventative medications.  Additionally, leashes, tie-outs, crates, food and blankets are purchased for those individuals who may not be able to otherwise afford these items for their cats or dogs. All of your donations are tax-deductible.

CITY OF CORSICANA ANIMAL SHELTER
The City of Corsicana Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of Navarro County are two C-O-M-P-L-E-T-E-L-Y separate entities…..
The Animal Shelter is a division of the City of Corsicana Police Department and is 100% operated, controlled and maintained by the City of Coriscana government.
The Humane Society of Navarro County is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with NO paid (or unpaid) employees.  We barely have an office large enough to hold meetings!!!  Most of our members have paid, full time careers; others are retired.  All of  our members are 100% volunteers – we are involved in the HSNC for no other reason than the love of animals.

If you need to contact the Corsicana Animal Shelter please call 903-654-4928, or 903-654-4929 for Animal Control.

The Corsicana Animal Shelter is open Mon, Tues, Thurs & Friday: 12pm-6pm and Saturday 12pm-4pm.
